This was a Ky Back Country Horseman work day at the Clay
Farm. There were 6 people there to help, namely Roy Cornett, Michelle Adams,
John Bates and Pat Blackburn and Joel and Ann Legris (who came sans horses but with chain saw).
THANKS TO ALL WHO CAME AND WORKED SO HARD TO GET THIS TRAIL COMPLETELY OPEN FOR USE!!!
This is one of a series of work days that we have been doing and will
continue to do over several months. We have excellent core group of
worker bees and it is great to see our work result in getting some
trails back open that have been inaccessible for several years.
We not only are members of the Ky Back Country Horseman but several of
us hold memberships Ky Horse Council, Keep, TREK, Friends of the Trail,
Ky. Horse Council Trail Committee, etc.
The reason that I want to share these is that I want to make it clear
that we are all in this for the same reason, enhanced access to public
lands with our horses. That is the important part. What individual or
group gets the credit is inconsequencial. The important issue is that
we are making progress in the right direction and the more we work
together, the better off we all are.
I want to take the time to thank KEEP (for our trailer) and the Ky Horse
Council (for our trail tools) for supporting our efforts in getting a
well equipped work trailer in hand for the our upcoming work projects.
